Groupize is proud to be a strong supporter of the Endicott College Internship program. Endicott’s internship program is known to be one of the top in the country and is key to the post-graduation placement rate of their students. Groupize co-founder Alisa de Gaspe Beaubien knows this first hand, as an Endicott Alum and former President of the Alumni Council and Trustee, she is passionate about the value of experiential learning and first hand experience delivered through internship for both students and employers.
Groupize has welcomed over 20 Endicott College Interns and this week we bid adieu to Spencer Butterworth, our summer intern in the sales & marketing department. Spencer was a great addition to the team at headquarters and helped out in many departments.
Meet Spencer in his own words:
My name is Spencer Butterworth and I am interning in the sales and marketing department at Groupize. I am going into my Junior year at Endicott College majoring in business management. I also was a member of the men’s soccer team where I played my freshman and sophomore year. I earned accolades such as First-Team All-Conference and All-Region. I am very interested in business and all it has to offer.
As a business management major, sales and finance have stuck out to me as something I may find success in after college. Groupize has allowed me to learn the ins and outs of what it takes and what goes on behind the scenes in day-to-day work. I’m super excited to reflect on everything I learn and take the skills I have been taught to my classes.
Endicott requires you to take 3 internships in order to graduate, allowing you to gain knowledge in the workforce while figuring out what you are interested in doing after college. I found Groupize through my advisor at Endicott and knew it would be a great place to start my journey. I reached out to Alisa De Gaspe Beaubien and she set up a great plan to allow me to help the company as well as experiment and learn more about sales and marketing. So far I have been able to listen in on calls, learn how to make connections to potential clients, participate in case studies, write blogs, find pricing, and more.
Endicott has allowed me to not only study business and play soccer, but I have also been able to participate in extracurriculars like community service and intramural basketball. My teammates and I were able to give back to the community by delivering food to a shelter in Beverly. We have also worked at an after-school program for elementary students in neighboring towns. Looking ahead I plan on studying abroad in Europe during my Junior year second semester as well as finding my second internship.
